Sister Joan Saalfeld of the religious order of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary (SNJM) graciously and gracefully served as a guest teacher for various Seven Thunders contemplative intensive retreats (CIR) and First Saturday sittings from 2013 until 2022. She trained and studied for many years with Willigis Jäger, a German Benedictine monk and an early teacher of our formative Seven Thunders group, and with Seven Thunders founding teacher, Patrick Hawk, a Redemptorist priest. In addition to both men being Catholic priests, they were also certified Zen Masters in the Sanbo Zen and Diamond Sangha lineages respectively.
